I don't think so... but truthfully, I have no idea! I have heard that as well, but I have a feeling that this is a strict rule that is generally not enforced. I know that my parents have a plot at a Jewish cemetery and my mom has her ears pierced, and that doesn't seem to be a problem. But I think that there is a rule in Judaism about not defacing the body (or something along those lines) which prohibits piercings and tattoos... so it wouldn't surprise me. Whether or not the cemetery enforces the rule probably depends on the cemetery and how religious it is. But if this is something you are concerned about, definitely don't take my word or anyone else's... find an expert and ask them! you can try searching the internet for it... but remember that there's a lit of bad information out there. You could also try stopping by one of the Jewish day schools and asking one of the teachers. You could also try calling one of the local Jewish cemeteries and asking what their policy on piercings is.

No you are definitely allowed to have tatoos or body piercings as my late uncle was burried in a jewish cemitary with both of those things.
